What is Search Engine Optimisation?
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a process by which web site traffic is improved by the positioning of the site in high visibility positions on major Search Enigines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN. Typically the higher your site appears in Search Engines for targeted keywords for your business, the more quality traffic or visits your site gets and the more business you generate.

In general terms the key to successful SEO is to analyse both the structure and content of the clients website in order to achive a clear and consistant message across the site. A highly targeted website focusing on core aspects of the companies business and giving valid, informative and up to date information is key to any SEO project. Websites which try scatter gun approaches across wide areas of business operations and generate numerous invalid links to other archives will not achive the results of a more targetted approach.

How do I know if my SEO is working?
Planet Code work closely with all of our web clients who embark on a monthly SEO package. We produce reports at the end of each month to review the progress of the website for the keyword objectives that we set out at the start of the process. Initially we are looking for the emergence and improvement of the keywords in the various Search Engine Indexes. We then look at the traffic improvements on the basis of these keywords and finally we analyses the business results in terms of improvement in awareness, the quality of the traffic and ultimately improvements to the turnover of the website and business as a whole.
